Continuing the Journey
Concerning Psalm 119:105, which speaks of God’s word being a lamp for the feet and a light on the path, it has been said that this reminds us that God gives daily guidance for the path of life.
“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” Psalm 119:105
It is not unique or prolific to think of the Christian life as a journey. What may be more significant is the particular path your journey takes as you live out the Christian life. As a young person, I never thought that I would be working in ministry, let alone become a pastor. Likewise, Cythia never thought that she would marry a minister and have the opportunity to minister to so many. Nevertheless, God’s plans and intentions are far beyond our knowing. I would suggest that, more important than knowing exactly what God will do during your journey is your choosing to follow his leading and guidance, even when you don’t know where the journey may take you.

Cynthia and I have committed ourselves to serving the Lord and seeking His guidance in every aspect of our lives. We have partnered with the 1322 Foundation, through which we provide counsel and support to ministry leaders and teams, equipping them to lead with integrity and excellence.
As we continue forward, trusting that God will reveal the full scope of our service in His time, we are presently preparing to minister to couples and individuals serving in a variety of ministry roles. Some serve on international mission fields, while others are staff members of One Challenge International. We will have opportunities to visit missionary couples and ministry workers in their countries of service, offering personal support and encouragement. Our responsibilities will also require regular travel to Colorado Springs, where we will assist individuals within One Challenge International as they address the demands and challenges of their service.
Those who commit their lives to serving the Savior often face discouragement. The day after our move, I fell down the stairs and broke my foot in two places; that same week, my car required more than $5,000 in repairs. Despite these unexpected challenges, we trust the Lord to equip us for faithful service and ask for your prayers as we begin this endeavor.
